SUBMISSIONS
Have you ever picked up a pen with your “other” hand and discovered a different version of yourself waiting to speak? We invite you to explore that voice — and share it with us.
SubJUNCtivo's Society for Deliberate Left-Handedness is seeking submissions for our upcoming journal. This is not about perfection. It’s about curiosity, creativity, and what emerges when we cross the bridge between hemispheres.
What We’re Looking For:
Left-handed (or non-dominant-hand) writing: journal entries, letters you’ll never send, poems, or freewrites. Messy scrawls encouraged.
Drawings or doodles created with your non-dominant hand: flowers, birds, bees, hands, spirit animals, mandalas — anything that surfaced in the awkwardness of practice.
Reflections on what you discovered through the process: Did your inner child speak? Did new emotions or memories surface? Did it feel playful, frustrating, healing?
Who Can Submit:
Anyone! Right-handed, left-handed, ambidextrous, or somewhere in between. The only requirement is that the work be created deliberately with your non-dominant hand.
Guidelines:
Written pieces: up to 1,000 words (typed transcript included if handwriting is illegible).
Visual art: scans or photos (300 dpi preferred).
Optional short artist statement (150 words max) about your experience.
Why Submit:
Your work will become part of a collective experiment in creativity and neuroplasticity — a living archive of what happens when we step outside our comfort zones and give the “other” hand a voice.
How to Submit:
Send your work to contact@subjunctivo.com with subject line: Left-Handed Submission.
Include your name (or pseudonym), contact information, and any relevant notes about your process.
